Light where it’s is needed

The Railpucks are distributed along both pathways to achieve a lighting level of 10 lux with a uniformity of 0.25. Their low position directs the light onto the walking area and keeps it close to the railway track.

Around 600 metres of pathway receive exactly the light required for clear visibility. The surrounding area can remain exactly as it is.

Compact installation along the track

The installation consists of 173 Railpucks, two power supply pits and eight sensors distributed along the route. The Railpucks are mounted directly in the web of the rail, keeping the system compact and the space alongside the track clear.

Installation is designed around railway practice. No heavy equipment is required and the system can be installed without de-energising the rail.

600 metres at 484.4 watts

Each Railpuck uses 2.8 watts. Across all 173 luminaires, the total luminaire power is 484.4 watts.

This low power consumption is possible because the light is positioned close to the pathway and directed exactly where visibility is required. The railway lighting at Vlissingen combines low energy use with clear visibility along the full route.
